Alexander Allan

Alexander Allan graduated in the seventies from Grays School of Art with a Degree in Ceramics. He spent 25 years teaching Art & Design at Ellon Academy in Aberdeenshire and then ran a graphic design and photography business for four years in the city of Aberdeen. His paintings, many produced to a large scale, are inspired from anything in the natural world from wild animals to stormy seas to woodland and forest.
He lived on the west coast of Ireland between 2008 and 2014 and was commissioned to produce work for the Roscommon Lamb Festival, which lead him to painting various breeds of sheep and other farm animals.
This artist paints in acrylics, with a unique style, using a mix of blues, greens and greys which hold your gaze and take you into his special woodland world where you can almost feel the forest carpet underneath your feet, to the dancing shadows on the trees, playing with your imagination and finally to the blue sky teasing you to look upwards and feel the sun.
The paintings have been sent all over the world to private collectors, and can be seen in corporate collections including the 5 star Marcliffe Hotel & Spa of Pitfoddels, Aberdeen.
